When your day overflows with obligations, a 20-minute walk in the park can soothe your soul, no matter the season. Choose the nature trail at the newly-named Clysta Willett Park in Mountain Home, formerly Twin Lakes Park, and you will be delighted as well as soothed.
Four trails—Scott, Sycamore, Wildflower, and Woodland—wind through 14 acres of woods and meadow given to the city by Clysta Willett in 1977. Baxter County Master Gardeners planted much of the Wildflower Trail with native shrubs, understory trees, warm-season grasses, annuals, biennials, and perennials. The North Arkansas Woodcarvers Club carved whimsical faces in trees damaged by the 2009 ice storm.
The trails are open to walkers, joggers, birders, photographers, and all other lovers of nature. Take your troubles with you, and throw them in the pond.
