Family   — Married to my wonderful husband, Mike, for 16 years. He is my friend and partner in everything I do. I am blessed with two great boys, Dalton (22) and Lawson (13). Both played sports competitively: football, baseball, basketball and wrestling. I absolutely love watching them compete. We have spent many hours preparing, traveling and supporting their sporting events.

Work —  I work part-time for the Food Bank as the event planner for their fundraisers and food drives.

Beauty secret/regimen  —  I am a simple girl (or maybe just lazy with my beauty routine!). I wash my face in the shower in the morning. I don’t wear makeup every day and I try not to wash my hair two days in a row.

Makeup  — bareMinerals

Salon  — Leann Silzell at Salon Seven in Mountain Home

Boutique  — Shabby 2 Chic for nails, tanning and shopping

Gym  — Mountain Home Athletic Club and WestStar

Radio Station  — 99.7 The Boot

Favorite out-of-town shop  — The Buckle in Little Rock and Fayetteville

Church  — Real Life Church

Feeling of freedom  — Driving my Jeep with the top down on a sunny day, a Sonic diet green tea with peach in my cup holder, probably playing my music too loud. 🙂

Place to lunch with girlfriends  — Bookworms at the library

Restaurant for an evening out  — Whispering Woods on a warm evening on the patio

Spot for a picnic   —Sandbar on the river

Body of water   Norfork River for kayaking

Way to spend an evening  — In the winter, a fire in the fireplace with a glass of wine and a good book on my iPad. In the summer, grilling outside with friends while drinking a cold beer.

Outdoor activities  — Kayaking, canoeing, landscaping, water skiing, boating, scuba diving, snow skiing, deer hunting, 4-wheeling, pistol practice, and hiking.

Way to relax  — Reading the latest novel. I like Lee Childs, James Patterson, and Nora Roberts. I also check the best sellers list and sample new authors.

Advice for younger women  — Talk about the positives and pray about the negatives.

Bedtime ritual  — Turn out the lights! 🙂

Movie  — Smokey and The Bandit. I come by the “fast car” gene honestly. My dad had several different sports cars and I loved driving them. My favorite was his “Magnum PI” bright red Ferrari. I will never forget someone pointing at us saying, “There is a Ferrari in Bald Knob, Arkansas!”

Vacation  — The sun, ocean and beach. It can be Alabama, Florida, Costa Rica…I like them all!

Way to celebrate a friend  — Stopping everything in my world to catch up on their world.

Way to be creative  — Pinterest ideas for everything from decorating to party planning and painting. Marvelous! Minis are wonderful evenings for creativity and socializing.

Family traditions – Mike and I both unexpectedly lost our fathers within a year of each other. Since their passing, we have both moms over for Sunday Supper at Six each week.

Starting in 2014, we decided to attend an away Razorback game each year at a stadium never visited before. We have been to Auburn, Tennessee and TCU. We are looking forward to the Ole Miss game in 2017.

Exercise routine  —  For cardio, I walk/run a couple of miles three times a week. Our British labrador, Shiloh, loves her morning exercise. I lift weights at the gym three or four times a week, a quick routine that takes about 30 minutes. I do not strive for perfection, rather persistence. I believe it is so important, as we get older, to support our bones with muscle. I have been working on my balance and flexibility, but to be honest I do not like yoga!

What I love about February/March  — Warmer weather and longer days…finally!
