Family: Tom (husband & life partner); Juliet (mother); Ricardo (son) and Daniela (daughter-in-law); Karla (daughter); Ricky (grandson); Valeria (granddaughter); Cecilia & Samantha (stepchildren).

Work: Owner, Holistic Training Center, where I offer motivational body/mind workshops to develop human potential and good parenting. I am also an instructor of Spanish as second language, and a gestalt group facilitator & instructional designer for online learning.

Beauty secret/regimen: Disciplined 30-minute exercise, 30-minute meditation, and a balanced diet.

Stylist: Rikki Corcoran at One on One Salon

Makeup: Light, modest, and occasional. I remove it every night.

Place to lunch with girlfriends: Blackbird Café

Restaurant for an evening out: PJ’s

Spot for a picnic: Any nice, quiet spot in Mother Nature.

Body of water: Our 21 acres, Honey Suckle Creek Farm, has a spring-fed creek with a couple of pools. It’s my preferred spot to meditate, enjoy my pets, play with children, and practice my hobbies. Honey Suckle Creek Farm, at 21 S. 340 Ford Trail in Mountain Home, is a unique place for petite weddings and vow renewals.

Way to spend an evening: On our back deck, with my husband and pets (6 furry babies), and the stars above us.

Outdoor activity: Riding my mare, Dahlia, hiking and/or kayaking with girlfriends.

Way to relax: Enjoying my hobbies—painting, hand crafts, reading, writing.

Advice for younger women: Get to know and embrace your best friend—yourself. You will live with her the rest of your life; by doing so, you will never feel alone and will marry, or commit your life to, someone else for the right reasons.

Bedtime ritual: To kiss my husband and pet my furry babies goodnight.

3 favorite books: The Book of Secrets by Deepak Chopra, You can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

Vacation: A nice beach away from crowds.

Way to celebrate a friend or loved one: By doing or making something meaningful for him/her.

Way to be creative: Through rest (meditation) and play (hobbies), I open my creative channels.

Way to volunteer: Wherever I can help, using my skills and talents to serve others.

What I love about August and September: It is time to enjoy my favorite exercise, swimming in the lake and at Cooper Park’s pool; and I still love going back to school. To me, education is a lifestyle. What I love about September is honoring my native country on September 16—Mexican Independence Day. Please do not confuse it with Cinco de Mayo! Mexican culture and oral communication is what my Spanish online course, “Think Spanish Learn Spanish,” is all about.

3 words that describe me: Determined, self-starter, disciplined.

Cause: To promote self-esteem and personal growth to avoid domestic violence. I do everything in my power to, as Marvelous! says, “Create the life I want.”
