Family: Husband, Mark; children: we are doubly blessed with our son and daughter, twins Jack & Trevi, 10; stepchildren: Cody, Ashlee & Chelsee; grandchildren: Emma & Elliot

Work: Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County

Beauty secret: A smile

Place to lunch with girlfriends: The Blackbird Café at the library, of course!

Spot for a picnic: Picnics are absolutely one of my most favorite things! I will picnic anywhere—on our living room floor, in our backyard, on our boat. My favorite picnic spot is at the Dallas Arboretum near the tree dedicated to my mom. The arboretum is also where Mark and I got married.

Outdoor activities: Picnicking, hiking, geocaching, photography, and cloud watching. I also enjoy gardening, although you would not know it by looking at my yard right now.

Ways to volunteer: Being a Girl Scout Leader! If I didn’t already work at the library, I would love to be a library volunteer.
Advice for participating at the library: Test and learn! Check out our Try Something New Night on Tuesday evenings: belly dancing, cooking with herbs, magic, balloon animals…

Favorite genres: Historical fiction and mysteries. I’ve been reading a lot of management books lately!

What I love about June/July: Summer reading programs and activities at the library, the Red, White & Blue Festival, boating on Lake Norfork, berries, and Sno-cones.

Causes:
Baxter County Library Foundation—a very worthy cause!
Wings for Wellness—helping women and their families overcome postpartum depression. My sister, Karen, founded this Dallas-based non-profit. I am very proud of her!
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Reppell Diabetes Learning Center—My husband, Mark, and stepdaughter, Ashlee, have Type 1 Diabetes.
Free to Breathe—dedicated to increasing lung cancer survival rates. My mother, Roxie, a healthy, nonsmoking woman, died just two months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. She was a very strong, amazing woman. M! June/July 2015
