Family: Being a wife and mother is my greatest pleasure. My whole world revolves around my little family. My husband, Josh, coaches boys basketball at Mountain Home Junior High. He is one of the funniest, strongest, most giving and fiercely loyal people I know, and he is absolutely my best friend on the planet. I am beyond blessed to have him by my side. Together we are raising a beautiful and feisty toddler, Lowenne Everly (affectionately nicknamed LoLo) and baby number two is scheduled to arrive soon.
Work: I am an instructor at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home and, in my spare time, a freelance graphic designer for several different clients and publications. It’s quite difficult at times being a working mother. I hope my hard work and intense love for my family will be a positive example for my children—show them that, with hard work and dedication, they can be anything they want to be.

Beauty secret: Having a sister who owns a beauty salon (shhhhhh!). Gel manicures and spray tans are my occasional indulgence.

Makeup: bareMinerals makeup, Chanel lip gloss, and my newest favorite is Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara for special occasions.

Place to lunch with girlfriends: Blackbird Café, especially if my littlest girlfriend is in tow. We love to grab a snack and head down to the children’s library. It is one of our favorite places.

Salon: Mistyfied

Boutique: freckles chic—I like that they have cute stuff for kids, too.

Spot for a picnic: Hickory Park. I have fond memories of playing there with my parents. It is fun to watch my little one play there now.

Outdoor activity: Playing in the park or catching fireflies in our back yard.

Way to relax: A relaxing bubble bath.

Bedtime ritual: Check email and Instagram, brush our teeth, snuggle in our PJ’s, read bedtime stories, and pray for our friends and family.

Movie: Cold Mountain. I love the story, the soundtrack, and the beautiful cinematography.

Vacation: My husband and I have always loved to travel. Lately the plane rides, concerts, and shopping trips have been replaced with shorter road trips, bouncy houses, and petting zoos, but we love it all the same.

Way to celebrate a friend: Catching up over dinner…and dessert.

Way to be creative: My career as a designer requires that I be creative all the time. I love it, but a lot of that time is spent in front of a computer screen making my ideas come to life digitally. So, in my own personal creative moments, I choose to be more organic, create things with my bare hands. I like to sew, paint, or plan fun photoshoots with my mini-muse Lowe!

What I love about December/January: Cozy fires, good food, and spending time with family.

3 words that describe me: Eclectic. Creative. Dedicated.

Dream for the future: My hope is to raise strong, kind-hearted, giving children who aren’t afraid to stand up for people or causes they believe in.

Advice for younger women: Be passionate about something. Better yet, be passionate about lots of things. Be yourself. It is OK (awesome actually) to be different and stand out from the crowd. Remember, sometimes the right decisions are the hardest to make.

Next bucket list item: Travel to the Greek Isles (and take my husband to a Denver Broncos game at Mile High Stadium).

What people might not know about me: I’m not afraid of power tools.

Motto: “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” — George Bernard Shaw M! December 2014/January 2015
