Pat Durmon is a native Arkansan who lives alongside the White River near Norfork. She thinks of the Ozarks as a little bit of paradise. Pat retired from mental health counseling 10 years ago and now writes free-verse poetry. She has published two books, received the 2007 Sybil Nash Abrams Award from Poets of the Roundtable of Arkansas, and is one of the supporters and organizers of a family members/caregivers group called Searching for Light in Mountain Home. She enjoys helping others, reading books, and laughing with husband Jimmy.
