A sparkling fish leaps from a candlestick holder. On the marble coffee table, a pink dragonfly alights in a circle of green gems. Sunlight bounces off an earring dangling from an antique lamp base.

You’re in Wanda Fielding’s very pink and exquisitely feminine living room in Cotter. Let’s call it her parlor.

“I never walked out of the house without earrings and lipstick,” Wanda says of her younger, more fashion-focused days. “I’ve always loved dressing up, wearing heels and jewelry.”

Today, Wanda still wears her jewelry out, but her aging hands make wearing rings difficult, and occasions are few, so she enjoys her jewelry in another way. She decorates with it, in different ways every day.

“It’s fun for me to watch people discover it,” Wanda says. “I don’t want it in a box. I want to see it. If you come back tomorrow, it’ll be different.”
